With the success of the Namsigguia Village Phase 1 project and laterPhase 2, Phase 3 will provide safe water and sanitation to more people in the Séguénéga region of Yatenga Province – a rural region northwest of the capital city of Ouagadougou in the department of Ouahigouya.
Activities:
- Construction of 3 new traditional wells
- Construction of 3 latrines
- Establish & train village water committees
*Costs include (in Canadian dollars): water quality monitoring, hygiene education activities, water source committee training, project monitoring, reporting & partner coordination for WASH sustainability, all construction, drilling, materials and labour as required.
Project Sites:
- Bakou Village well and community latrine – completed to serve 1,304 people
- Gambo Village well and community latrine – completed to serve 5,393 people
- Koukabako Village well and community latrine – completed to serve 327 people
Updates:
- May 2012 – Construction of wells and latrines has been completed and final training and community meetings taking place.
