Working hand and hand since 2003, Ryan’s Well and the Rukingiri Women Integrated Development Foundation (RWIDF) have completed over 200 water and sanitation projects in Western Uganda. The RWIDF is a community-based women’s organisation with a mandate to enhance the skills, livelihoods and well-being of women and youth. We will continue to work in the districts of Mitooma, Bushenyi and Rukingiri. This year, with your help, we will complete 31 water projects, mobilize and train community members in maintenance, repair of site locations. This project will provide approximately 8,335 people with access to potable water.
What will the funds raised support?
- The mobilization of 31 communities in project management
- Construction of 30 protected springs
- Construction of one 30 thousand litre rainwater harvesting tank
- Concentrated WASH training for all communities and school populations
- Ongoing local monitoring and evaluation
RWIDF and support staff live in the areas that we are working in. The communities where we work are involved from the outset in all projects. Site location, committee organization, maintenance, repairs are all critical pieces to maximizing the impact the source has on the community. Long lasting projects and community ownership are the goals in all project work that are undertaken. RWIDF has 15 years of experience that we will continue to build on this coming year, and as always, strive to improve in our service delivery.
Every effort is made to designate your funds as requested; however, if the specified project has become fully funded or unforeseen circumstances delay its start, we may allocate your donation to another important project
